“I believe the world is divided in three groups: givers, takers and the few that can balance both impulses. Giving and loving is a beautiful thing. It is the currency of compassion and kindness, it is what separates good people from the rest. And without it, the world would be a bleak place. If you are a giver, it is wise to define your boundaries because takers will take what you allow them to; all givers must learn to protect that about themselves or eventually, there is nothing left to give.”
There are many reasons why we should be generous with the money we have and use it to contribute to the movement to end extreme poverty. Many of us are so wealthy and fortunate, especially in comparison to those living in poverty around the world.
A small sacrifice at our end translates into huge gains for those who have so little.
Start by making donation or, if you are ready to make a deeper commitment, become a regular giver to those in need. By committing a small proportion of our income to aid and development you are committing to real and ongoing change!
“You have two hands, one to help yourself the second to help others.”
